Apart from supplying high quality materials, we also provide relevant expert services to assist you with your projects. The knowledgeable staff at FA Mitchell have many decades of experience and expertise in the following services. We also offer friendly advice, which can often save you from paying too much or choosing sub-optimal products.
Fire Retarding
We are able to treat our plywood to make it less vulnerable to burn in case of a fire. The plywood still remains a combustible material but once it is fire retardant treated, it offers a distinctly lower flame-spread rate than the untreated plywood used in building construction.
Termite / Rot Treatment
Subterranean termite damage is very much like dry rot in general appearance but the presence of live termites, termite galleries and wetter wood usually separates the two conditions.
Our treatment kills rot in wood and prevents its recurrence. In most cases we are able to use the relatively safe borates (borax-boric acid mixtures) which have a great track record of preventing rot in new wood and killing rot organisms and wood-destroying insects in infested wood.
Cut to size
We smooth out your project by cutting your plywood, particle boards and MDF wood panels to size (straight cuts only).
Using our state-of-the-art cutting and edge banding equipment, we offer you precision cuts to any shape and size. We also provide edging and vertical & horizontal boring services.
Edge Banding
End banding or edge banding, is the name of both a process and an associated narrow strip of material used to create durable and aesthetically pleasing trim edges during finish carpentry.
Using end banding we cover the exposed sides of materials such as plywood, particle board or MDF. This increases durability and enhances the look of the material significantly.
Our high volume processing edge banders enable us to create high quality edges on our custom cut plywood, particle and MDF boards with quick turnaround for your project.
